WE'RE MOVING!!!

We're doing it. On June 18th we are moving my husband and all of our belongings to our new townhouse apartment!!! And yes, I did say my husband, not we... but just my husband. I have to fulfill my obligations at my part time job, it's a contract job so I have to work until August 8th. But I will get to help Justin move and unpack for 2 days. We ended up getting the townhouse, 2 story apartment that doesn't have the W/D hookups... BUT there's a laundry room just a few doors down IN our complex so that's quite handy. It's a very cute apartment, and the first thing we spotted was a FULL SIZED OVEN! Haha, we were so excited! In our current apartment, our stove is one of those tiny ones you can barely fit anything into!

So yes, sometime today Justin will be giving his notice... and I was supposed to do the same but I'm still trying to get my nerve up to do that. I'm TERRIFIED. If you've read my previous blogs, you'll know that my current FT job is pretty ridiculous.

Yesterday, we took Snickers to be groomed at Petsmart, she was starting to look ridiculously like a huge fuzzy puff ball, so it just HAD to be done. So 3 hours and 40 dollars later.... she looks like a real dachshund! LOL The groomer was so sweet, and he was very gentle with her. I'm pretty sure she was terrified, but all ended well!

This week is the 4th of July, time to celebrate our freedom (of some sort) and relax (or pack) on our 3 day wknd! Woohoo!

" 'Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.' "

Wowzers! Thursday already?

At the beginning of this week, I thought it was going by SO slow.... but now it's already Thursday! Wow! Tomorrow my wonderful hubby and I will be heading out of town to check out the apartments in my previous post. The manager from the complex called me at SEVEN am this morning, geez! I was pretty grumpy, but I immediately cheered up when she said they were ready for our arrival tomorrow and couldn't wait to show us the open apartments!!!! Yipppeee!!! SO excited!

After tomorrow is over (and we hopefully have a future home) I'll be heading back to hang out with a close friend (Hannah!) who is FINALLY back from Europe! Yay! And finally on Saturday, we're having a big yard sale at Justin's nanny's house! (And then I get to work all wknd.... yay?)

So far, everything is looking great, I really feel like this is what is supposed to happen for us. This month has been GREAT, money has been coming it like it's going out of style, I'm on FIRE for the Lord, and I have an AMAZING husband! Yay!

Ok, enough yays, I have to get back to work!!

"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete."

The Search is On.... Or Over?

Well we finally found a few apartments we LOVE, and get to PHYSICALLY see them this Friday! All of them are owned by the same company, but I thought I'd share a little bit about them!

The first one is a townhouse apartment, two stories, two bedrooms, one bath, and we can have Snickers! The downside: no w/d connections, no dishwasher... blah. But we can deal! Lol!

Photobucket
The second two are garden apartments, they both have two bedrooms, w/d connections, dishwashers, etc. The smaller one's master bath is just a toilet and sink, while the other apartment's master bath is a full bathroom with a walk in shower and the other bath has the tub.

Justin and I are both wishing this week would go by faster so we can finally see these apartments! Snickers will finally get to stay with us, we'll be away from our families, but close enough they're there if we need them... a real brand new start. I'm terrified and excited all at the same time!

Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Working at a childcare, we hear some of the most hilarious things come out of those kids mouths! I found a site that listed some that parents had contributed...

1. A kindergarten pupil told his teacher he'd found a cat, but it was dead. 'How do you know that the cat was dead?' she asked her pupil. 'Because I pissed in its ear and it didn't move,'answered the child innocently. 'You did WHAT???' the teacher exclaimed in surprise. 'You know,' explained the boy, 'I leaned over and went 'Pssst!' and it didn't move.'

2. A small boy is sent to bed by his father. Five minuteslater..... 'Daad....' 'What?' 'I'm thirsty. Can you bring drink of water?' 'No, You had your chance. Lights out.' Five minutes later; 'Da-aaaad.....' 'WHAT?' 'I'm THIRSTY. Can I have a drink of water??' I told you NO! If you ask again, I'll have to spank you!!' Five minutes later......'Daaaa-aaaad.....' 'WHAT!' 'When you come in to spank me,can you bring a drink of water?'

3. An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him 'How do you expect to get into Heaven?' The boy thought it over and said, 'Well, I'll run in and out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, 'For Heaven's sake, Dylan, come in or stay out!''

4. One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her son into bed. She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, 'Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?' The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug. 'I can't dear,' she said. 'I have to sleep in Daddy's room.' A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice; 'The big sissy.'

5. It was that time, during the Sunday morning service, for the children's sermon. All the children were invited to come forward. One little girl was wearing a particularly pretty dress and, as she sat down, the pastor leaned over and said, 'That is a very pretty dress. Is it your Easter Dress?' The little girl replied, directly into the pastor's clip-on microphone, 'Yes, and my Mom says it's a b-tch to iron.'

6. When I was six months pregnant with my third child, my three year old came into the room when I was just getting ready to get into the shower. She said, 'Mommy, you are getting fat!' I replied, 'Yes, honey, remember Mommy has a baby growing in her tummy.' 'I know,' she replied, but what's growing in your butt?'

7. A little boy was doing his math homework. He said to himself, 'Two plus five, that son of a is seven. Three plus six, that son of a bitch is nine....' His mother heard what he was saying and gasped,'What are you doing?' The little boy answered, 'I'm doing my math homework, Mom.' 'And is this how your teacher taught you to do it?' the mother asked. 'Yes,' he answered. Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day, 'What are you teaching my son in math?' The teacher replied, 'Right now, we are learning addition.' The mother asked, 'And are you teaching them to say two plus two, that son of a bitch is four?' After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered, 'What I taught them was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four.'

8. One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of Chicken Little to her class. She came to the part of the story where Chicken Little tried to warn the farmer. She read, '..... and so Chicken Little went up to the farmer and said, 'The sky is falling, the sky is falling!' The teacher paused then asked the class, 'And what do you think that farmer said?' One little girl raised her hand and said, 'I think he said; 'Holy Shit! A talking chicken!'' The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.

9. A certain little girl, when asked her name, would reply, 'I'm Mr. Sugarbrown's daughter.' Her mother told her this was wrong, she must say, 'I'm Jane Sugarbrown.' The Vicar spoke to her in Sunday School and said, 'Aren't you Mr. Sugarbrown's daughter?' She replied, 'I thought I was, but mother says I'm not.'

10. A little girl asked her mother, 'Can I go outside and play with the boys?' Her mother replied, 'No,you can't play with the boys, they're too rough.' The little girl thought about it for a few moments and asked, 'If I can find a smooth one, can I play with him?'

11. A little girl goes to the barber shop with her father. She stands next to the barber chair eating a snack cake while her dad gets his hair cut. The barber says to her, 'Sweetheart, you're gonna get hair on your Twinkie.' She says, 'Yes, I know, and I'm gonna get boobs too.'

Huh, What? Say that again?

I am EXHAUSTED! I feel like all I do is work... which is well.... true. LOL! I've been working nonstop at both the law firm & childcare, and this week (and NEXT week for that matter) are AWFUL at the childcare. The conference is an awesome conference... the conferees, not so much. We do have this one baby that has already melted my heart though! His name is Gabe, and he is PRECIOUS. He is the happiest baby I have ever met, and he has these big beautiful blue eyes and a toothless grin... if I wasn't taken already I'd say I'd fallen in love, LOL!

Things haven't gotten much better at this excuse they call a law firm, but in about a month all will be well with the world. Meaning... I'M MOVING... WOOHOO! Soooo excited! Yes!

I don't have much more to post today, but I want to wish everyone a wonderful and blessed day :)

"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Be on your guard against men; they will hand you over to the local councils and flog you in their synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you."

Drama Everywhere I Flipp'n Go.

I am so tired of drama. I am so tired of keeping my mouth shut. I want to flipp'n smack her upside the head and tell her to shut her face!

What I did: I was working on putting the checks for the day into our database... I knew that I had given her one earlier in the day so I messaged her and said, "When you get a minute I need that check so I can put it into our spreadsheet... it's almost 4!"

As soon as I sent it, I heard her go, "OMG! I wish she would stop!" then you hear her whispering to our office manager, "I swear, if Sarah doesn't stop being so impatient I'm going to go off on her! What is her problem!"

Ok, out of that msg I sent her... what was being impatient? I simply told her I needed it when she had a minute to get it in. That's it. I didn't say, I NEED IT NOW... or WHAT'S TAKING SO LONG! I even had a little hooray in there with... it's almost 4! Like, yay! It's almost time to go!

I am so ready to get out of this excuse they call a job.

6.16.2008

Ay-ya-ya....

I know... I'm a slacker, I haven't posted in a few days. I've been VERY busy! Let's see, I worked all last week at both the law firm & childcare... and for the first time in weeks I had ALL DAY saturday off! Heck yes! Anyways, let me backtrack a bit...

Friday, this woman kept calling me and asking to speak with one of the lawyers or one of the paralegals. Well, apparently the lawyer had just stepped out when I transferred her, so she called back... I transferred her to the paralegal and she didn't answer... so after about the 50th time of her calling me back I answered the phone. She started going off on how incompetent I was that I couldn't even transfer her directly to a person to talk too, that it was my lazy @$$'s fault her loan was falling through and that I needed to transfer her to the lawyer NOW, so she could speak to him directly. I calmly (but in the back of my mind wanted to scream at her) said, "M'am, Mr. Gazoontite (substitute names, lol) and Ms. Aphrodite are out of the office at the moment so I can transfer you to their voicemails or leave a personal message for them myself. But at this time they are unavailable to speak directly to you." She then went on to say again, that I was an incompetent b**** and that she had no idea how I got my job or how I got through life being the way I was etc etc. I thought this quite funny actually considering that none of this was my fault and I was very polite to her. I called Mr. Gazoontite after she hung up and told him what was going on, he then proceeded to tell me that the loan office that had approved this loan for this crazy woman had made mistakes on her application. So technically it was the bank's fault her loan was falling through, but ofcourse they were telling this crazy woman it was our fault. Well, next thing I know this huge woman comes in glaring at me. I didn't know who she was, so I smiled politely and said, "Good afternoon, how are you? Can I help you?" Big mistake, it was the crazy woman. She starts yelling and cursing and telling me she MUST speak to the lawyer now, she knows he's here and if I don't get him down her immediately she was going to kick my @$$. I was TERRIFIED... this woman was HUGE! But ofcourse, I can't do what she wants, because Mr. Gazoontite is in fact out of the office. She's not happy with that answer and starts coming around the counter to my desk while I sit terrified with big puppy dog eyes praying somebody comes to help me. I'm frantically trying to buzz someone and that doesn't work. Luckily, just seconds before she gets to my desk one of the lawyer's just happens to be heading downstairs and hears the ruccus and says, "What is going on? Is there a problem? M'am can I help you?" So now, skipping all the unneccesary details, this woman gets her way, they fix the loan (that I still think shouldn't have been done considering that the bank made the mistake and the horrible manner in which she was treating me) and she goes on her happy way... while no one asks if I'm ok, no one tells me they're sorry that happened. UGH! Yea, so I've decided that after Justin and i move, I am NOT working in another law office. All the mean clients are horrid to me, but once the lawyer's come downstairs the clients put on their pretty faces and act very innocent. Bull!

Anywho. This past wknd was Father's Day, and since my parents had just gotten back from their eventful vacation I didn't want to do anything huge. So we went and bought supplies for a cookout and had a ball! Dad and I spent the day at the grocery store & hardware store and at home just talking and goofing off! Happy Father's Day to all you daddies out there!

This week will be particularly busy, we have a HUGE conference at our conference center these next 2 weeks (over 1,000 people both weeks) and I'm working everyday until Saturday until 11pm. Busy bee, I am!

Next Friday, June 27th, Justin and I will be heading to TN to check out some apartments and houses and hopefully we will find something and put a deposit on it that day (with our wonderful stimulus check, lol). Hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed week (despite the craziness of mine!)

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

Rules When Dealing w/a Receptionist

Alright, so in this past year working as a receptionist I have discovered many things.... learned how impatient and rude people can be.... and how demanding some people are. Well here are some rules I think should be used when dealing w/a receptionist.

1 - I work 8 hours day, 5 days a week and during that time I am only behind my desk and infront of my phone for a total of probably 3 hours. Do NOT call my phone over and over until I answer and then assume that it's okay to rant and rave at me for not answering my phone. I have other duties, I will not always be at my desk. Call me once... hang up. Call me twice, and leave a message I WILL call you back.

2 - If you call and I do answer the phone, once I transfer you to the person you wished to speak with I am done. If for instance you call me to speak to a lawyer, and once I transfer you he does not pick up... do not proceed to call me over and over and tell me to continue transfering you. If he doesn't answer he is busy, if you go to voicemail he's not here.... I am not their momma, I don't control what they do. Get a life and leave a message, I promise it's not the end of the world.

3 - If you come in for an appointment and the attorney is late or isn't quite on time, do not get angry with me. Do not yell at me. Do not cop an attitude with me. I told them you were here, I messaged, called & spoke to them in person. They will be here when they get here. Again, I am not their mother, I cannot make them do anything. Be patient, have a seat, grab a glass of water and a magazine and hush!

4 - If you call me and I transfer you... do not call me back. I will not answer. I will not repeat myself over and over when you could have just left a msg.

5 - Do not comment on the lack of cleanliness in the lobby, yes I work here, yes I straighten things up but I am NOT a maid. I do NOT mop, I do NOT sweep, nor do I wash windows. That is the janitor's job, I'd be more than happy to call him up for you if you'd wish to complain, but please don't make snide remarks to ME about how I should clean the office.

6 - Also, do NOT comment on how awful our plants look, I am not a gardener... I do in fact have a black thumb. I water them twice a week, and if you have a problem with that you can come in and water them yourself.

7 - Do not assume I know who you are, do not assume I know what you're talking about. We have over 1,000 clients and you just happen to be here today. Hi, nice to meet you... but I still have no idea who you are.

8 - When you leave a message on my voicemail... it is helpful to say WHO you are, WHAT you need, and leave your phone number. I can't call you back without that information, so please don't call me after leaving a horrible msg like, "I'd like to schedule an appt with Bob." or "Call me back ASAP." and expect me to know who you are.... I have no idea!

9 - Do not call me and try to talk me into giving you personal information about a client or a coworker... I just can't do that. Do not yell at me, do not curse at me... get off your lazy butt and come into the office. If you are a family member of a deceased client... then ok, if you're anyone else... why do you need the information anyways?

10 - No, I don't know who your parents were. No, I can't give you the lawyer's cell phone number. No, I cannot watch your children while you speak to the attorney. No, I will not reschedule your appointment for 11am when it is infact 10:30 am.

11 - Last, and most importantly... I am a person, I have a life.... and I do in fact have feelings. Do not judge me, do not 'tsk tsk" at me for being young and married, or taking a break from school. You do not know me, you will never know me.... and you have no business deciding whether I'm good enough to help you with your legal issues. You're the one who needs the lawyer, not me... so who are you to judge?

Poor Daddy :(

For those of you that know my Daddy, you probably know how stubborn he is. My dad is Joe, he's in his early 50's and was diagnosed with Diabetes a few years back. With diabetes, you have all different kinds of health risks and such... one of those being kidney stones. Dad has had them before, and poor guy was in so much pain :( .

Anyways, my parents and baby brother (who is actually 16 and not technically a baby) went to Florida for vacation and stayed with my Uncle Mark (dad's younger brother) and Aunt Andra (who just so happens to be an RN). I called them last night, they were about 20 minutes away and dad sounded soooo excited! Today I get a message from my brother saying, "So dad's sick again, mom took him to the hospital Aunt Sissy (Andra) works out... better call her". And ofcourse I freak out. Turns out, he is ok, just in severe pain with another bout of kidney stones. Poor daddy :( At this time he is happily drugged and getting a CAT scan to determine what to do about those horrid kidney stones.

Without further ado...... HAPPY VACATION FAMILY!

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother'—which is the first commandment with a promise— 'that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth'."

Update

Well, I haven't posted in a few days, but in all honesty nothing huge has happened! Still don't know anything about Granny's Medicaid, so for right now Justin and I are still planning on moving at the end of July, beginning of August. I've been working a lot, sleeping a lot and that's about it. More later!

What is this feeling... So sudden & new?

I've been really stressed out this week. My paternal grandmother was put into a nursing home Monday morning after being in a rehabilitation center at the hospital for a week. My dad is trying to get everything worked out so she can go on Medicaid, but chances are that that won't happen. If for some reason it doesn't work out, she'll be going home and somehow we will have to find a way to make it work. If it comes down to it, Justin & I may have to cancel our plans for a while, I'll quit my job and take care of her full time. I love her so much, and I want to move so bad.... I'm torn.

Also, my computer decided to die last night, I can't get it to do anything and it's only 2 years old! Ugh.

I don't have much to write... just that I'm tired of being at this desk everyday doing nothing... I'm ready to move.... and I want my gramma to be happy and well :(

"Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed."

Ready to Move

I am SO ready to pack my bags and head out of town already! These two months are just going to drag by and I know it! (Ofcourse I say that now... and they will go faster than lightning!)

I'm struggling today with someone else's problems.... I have a friend who thinks that they are always right... their opinion is the only opinion that is right and if you dare to argue with them you are the spawn of Satan. UGH! I basically just keep to myself now, because I can't stand listening to someone constantly complaining about everything, saying that their life is awful and that nothing good ever happens. I just don't understand that. Now, I know that I complain a lot, I do it all the time on this blog, but I'm not sitting her saying that I hate my life and that God isn't looking out for me. I know that in everything I do and in everything that happens to me, God is there.... but this person just doesn't get that. I'm honestly just tired of it. You can only take so much, you know?

Onto another topic... my baby brother's girlfriend dumped him this past weekend :( Poor Dylan, it was their one month anniversary, and I know he really cared about her. ::sigh:: High school love really stinks sometimes!

Well I'm off to try and actually get some work done, hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed day!

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

"I Have Overcome the World"

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a special phone that had one button on it labeled "Father"? A one push dial that dialed us directly to God! Sometimes, and everyone goes through this, you just struggle listening to Him... you struggle hearing what He has to say! There are days when I just want to call him up and say, "Hey Dad, how ya doing today? Could you help me out with something, I need a little Father-Daughter advice!" How cool would that be?

Well, since that's obviously not a real life gizmo or anything, I found something that's been helping me the last couple of weeks. It's called God's Yellow Pages. It's SO cool! There are three columns, each for different situations. The first column is called, "Where to look when..." with different categories like: Where to look when you're afraid, bitter, facing crisis... etc. The second column is called, "Christian Virtues & Character" with different categories like: Cleanliness, faithfulness, kindness and even stewardship. The third, and last, column is called, "Teachings about life's problems" with different categories like: Anxiety, death, fear, and submission. Each category in each column have links to lots of verses you can use for encouragement, hope & understanding. I think that's pretty close to a direct dial to Christ!

The reason I posted about this, is because I am just exhausted. I'm tired of the same old same old... I'm physically drained and emotionally drained. I was looking for an answer and was looking through the 'Yellow Pages' for a little understanding and I found this...

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
-Matthew 11:28-30

I found my rest in Him... pretty simple right? Not so simple... it takes a lot to rest your burdens on Him and just let Him take care of you and your problems. You have to literally pick off the garbage, dirt and sin and hand it over to him... well sort of. That's hard to do though, you know? But I'm working on it, and He's working through me...

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
-John 16:33
